The Queensland Police Service (QPS) offers alternative recruitment pathways for people wanting to become Police Officers who:
The QPS offers the Indigenous Recruit Preparation Program (IRPP) for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. The IRPP is a 10 week, full-time introductory course at the QPS Academy that, on successful completion, provides direct entry into the Recruit Training Program.
The Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Recruit Preparation Program (CALDRPP) is a 10 week course at the QPS Academy that prepares participants from non-English speaking backgrounds for entry into the Recruit Training Program.
Consideration will be given to former QPS officers for re-appointment as a Queensland police officer.
Applications are invited from current and recently serving police officers from other Australian and international jurisdictions.
