Pathways to becoming a Queensland police officer
To become a police officer with the Queensland Police Service (QPS), you must undertake a recruit training program at a QPS Academy.
A range of entry pathways is available, depending on your background and experience.
To begin your recruitment process, all applicants must complete the QPS Eligibility Test. Applicants who appear eligible will then be invited to submit an Expression of Interest and must meet all necessary eligibility requirements.
Please note that the Eligibility Test and requirements may vary, depending on the pathway. QPS Recruiting will assess your background and experience to determine the most suitable entry pathway for you.
